Hi Tweeters,

This is our first post to Tweeters, we have been birding for about 18 years
and today we saw our first PINE GROSBEAKS. We observed a male and female at
Mt. Rainier. Location: Stevens Canyon Road between the upper and lower
lake of Reflection Lakes near Paradise on the roadway heading east. The
female was on the side of the road eating something off the pavement, the
male flew down and both stayed there for about 5 minutes until a passing
car scared them. They flew into the trees on the left hand side road and
hung out there for about 5 more minutes then flew back down to the street.
We managed to get about 20 pictures or so. I posted 2 pics on Flickr for
everyone to see.
Great day up there, still lots of snow. Here is the link to the pics.
