Tweets,

I was conducting some plant surveys on YTC last weekend and while driving
into one of my sites I noticed a Western Kingbird perched on a open snag
near the ground. I was about 12 miles south of Vantage near the Columbia
River and next to a long line of introduced poplars that are used as a
windbreak for the orchards. I stopped and pulled out my binos to get a
better look and right away an Ash-throated Flycatcher flew on to the same
snag. He didn't sing while he was there and soon took off. Later that
afternoon we stopped at the same site but couldn't relocate him.
White-throated Swifts flew overhead at our gate entrance, catching some of
the 15-20 mph gusts and accelerating at unbelievable speed with the wind
behind them.
