My eBird comment pretty much sums it up: constant, drenching rain. Birds
were pretty hunkered down, too. Only a few notables today.

Just before dawn, I flushed a Barred Owl from the edge of 7 Meadow. As I
watched it fly across the meadow, I was distracted by a view on the other
side of another uncommon sighting: an adult male Homo sapiens in full molt
(use your imagination!). The owl flew right in front of him--wonder if he
got a good view.

4 very late Horned Grebe were just off the swim beach, while 2 Spotted
Sandpiper were at the Crescent Pond.

Someone had dumped a box of Trix cereal in the parking area. If you ever
need to chum for Crows, I would suggest filtering: I watched 2 crows for
several minutes as they picked through the cereal bits. They studiously
avoided the colored pieces, picking up only those of 'natural' color.

Only 39 species for the day; with the owl, now at 126 species for the
year.
