The off and on sunshine has made for a great week in the yard. The Western Tanagers are here in numbers and the Black-headed Grosbeaks are losing their shyness. I am seeing more warblers, even a MacGillivray?s for a quick visit to the water yesterday.

I have the first fledglings for the year, Juncos.

I had to quit feeding for a few days to get rid of the Evil, er, Evening Grosbeaks. The Starlings are not so easy, they come back at the very thought of replenishing the suet feeder.

I finally finished putting the Idaho photos on pbase: http://www.pbase.com/jvhigbee/idaho
My favorite has to be the Long-tailed Weasel. He took a vole down his hole, which action I couldn?t catch, but then popped up right by the van and posed real nice.

And photos from the yard are here: http://www.pbase.com/jvhigbee/current
