Led a wonderful group of 11 birders from Seattle Audubon's Master birder class today. We birded Vantage in the morning and the Kittitas Valley in the afternoon. Many good birds. I'll mention the notable birds (all of which were at Vantage):

--3 female Black Scoter continue to be seen from Vantage Boat Launch area (first seen last Sunday).
--1 immature Surf Scoter continues to be seen from Wanapum State Park boat launch.
--1 first winter Pacific Loon just south of Wanapum Dam. Close looks, only about 100 yards from shore.

Other birds of note were:
lingering American white pelicans (4) south of Wanapum Dam
Bonaparte's gull (2) from Vantage boat launch
red-necked grebe Vantage boat launch
first of winter Barrow's goldeneye south of Wanapum Dam.
