Three minutes of magic in my backyard today. I have a Red-breasted
Sapsucker that was raised in my backyard this summer, he is so used to
seeing me that he allows me to photograph him. The leaves in my walnut
tree are just starting to clear out, so I'm finally able to get a good
view of him. As I was standing there an Anna's Hummingbird came into
view, unfortunately I wasn't able to get a good shot of the little
hummer actually drinking from the open sapwells, but I'm sure that's
what he was doing.

Then a Pileated Woodpecker flew in, my first sighting. I've heard them
in my woods, but had never seen them. What an impressive bird!

I still have some goldfinches hanging around, I've never seen them this
late in the year before. Do some of you have goldfinches all year round?
