Dear Tweeters,
?
Today, 10 November 2012, was a lovely day to be out and about birding in Skagit County. I visited quite a few sites, and although I missed the rarities, I think I managed to find about 91?or more?species--still haven't tallied up the day's totals. My bird of the day was a Savannah Sparrow at the site where Josh Parrott found the Clay-colored Sparrow a few days ago, near the Game Range on Fir Island. I spent several hours there today, but no dice on the CCSP. My big misses for the day included Tundra Swan, Greater Scaup, Peregrine Falcon, Pigeon Guillemot, Marbled Murrelet, Eurasian Collared Dove (!), and Downy Woodpecker. A century day would have been in reach if I hadn't shilly-shallied at the Game Range, but I really wanted that Clay-colored!
?
Yours truly,
?
