Home solicitors...! Scheesh! This had to be bad when an adult male
Pileated Woodpecker shows up at your front door as was the case this morning and
starts hammering (LOUDLY!) on the hollow wooden 'bat house' located near
Larsen Lake during my Lake Hills Greenbelt (Bellevue) walk this morning.
The 'bat house' is mounted on a metal pole maybe 15-18' up and the hammering
being done by this Pileated Woodpecker resonated incredibly loud! Now th
ere appears to be a fresh new 'dent' in the spot at the front door where the
carved bat's head should be ...or maybe once was. I've never seen any bats
there, but how should I know, it's day time and if there's any bat(s)
inside, they'd be asleep, ...um, er, ...were asleep!
