Tweeters: This morn I went up early to Fir Island in search of the Palm Warbler reported earlier this week. I had no luck, but while talking with a hunter, had a great view of an ad. N. GOSHAWK as it flew low through the area. It perched briefly in a tree south of the main trail before continuing east. This species is rare in the county and I've only had one other all these years for Skagit. Also, in the outer marsh (where the hunting activity is substantial), I heard at least one SWAMPSPARROW, there was a possible second also, but it could have been the same bird. Leaving, I noticed 24 EUR. COLLARED-DOVES in one group at the edge of Conway, the most I've had in one spot in Skagit Co to date. As in Sequim, the species continues to increase locally.
