Subject: [Tweeters] Snowy Owls on Fir Island

Could the paucity of Snowy Owls on Fir Island be related to the number of Bald Eagles present? The habitat is certainly there in fields, ditches and driftwood a la Boundary Bay. But while there are Snowies usually occurring near Stanwood and the Big Ditch foreshore, they are scarce on Fir Island. Plus there are several other raptorial species working that area.
