Happy Thanksgiving everyone,
I did some pre-holiday festivities birding along the Foothills trail near South Prairie today and pished out a Northern Waterthrush. The bird was seen on the South Prairie-Carbon River Rd, just northeast of 223rd Avenue. It was between the two driveway accesses for the Northwest Pallet Services building located here. Also present at this same spot were two Swamp Sparrows.

I believe this is the 2nd record for Northern Waterthrush in Pierce County, the first was August 25, 2004 by Charlie Wright about 100 yards from this bird's location!
