Friends of mine were watching their backyard feeders yesterday afternoon (Sat 11/24) when a Brambling appeared among the juncos. They had time to study it and peruse a stack of field guides and websites to make the ID. We staked out their feeders today but it was a no show after 6+ hours. They would prefer to not have hordes of birders in their yard, so the location will remain anonymous. BUT.....do take a walk around Wallingford and spread some bird seed in the area of 39th Ave and Ashworth and Interlake and 40th. If you live in that general area pay extra attention to your backyard feeders. Good Luck!
