It was definitely too nice to stay in so we headed out to Boe Road to
see if we could slip in between the hunters.
A fair number of hunters but the birds were not flying much for them,
those that were up were pretty high.
We took a walk along the dike and were surprised by a great grey owl out
basking in the sunlight.
The owl was sitting on a log with root wad about 50' off the bank and
about 200' from the big flock of snow geese, completely surrounded by water.
It did not appear stressed and would alternately look around, yawn, and
close one or both eyes.
It just seemed to be enjoying the rather thin sunlight on its back.
A very nice view in the scope with huge ears showing prominently.
