On black Friday morning I was working at my computer when I heard crows raising a ruckus outside. I looked out my window toward the bird feeder and saw an adult (female) Cooper's hawk standing over a struggling wood duck drake. I quickly retrieved my camera gear and slowly opened the window. The hawk flushed but I felt certain it would return to its prey. In about 15 minutes it did return and allowed me to get several images. It was very early so the light was low and it was raining as well. I was forced to use a very slow shutter speed and high ISO so felt fortunate to get some images I was happy with. To see this drama transpire is one thing but to actually get pictures was beyond my wildest expectations.
