I once saw a river otter catch and kill a dowitcher at Ridgefield NWR. The dowitcher just sat there like it didn't know what to do. Opportunistic little weasels! Thanks for sharing the pic.

Subject: [Tweeters] River Otters preying on duck

During a walkabout today I observed a pair of otters aggressively chasing a flock of ducks. A bit later I came upon this view of an otter eating a duck. I did not see the actual attack or capture so don't know if it was a live catch or carrion.
