Subject: [Tweeters] Yakima's Snowy Owl injured, in rehab

Hi Tweeters,

Mike Roper sent this e-mail to BirdYak this morning:

"I just got a call from Steve Seibert. He got a call to pick up the
Snowy. A delivery driver found it on the side of the road. It
apparently has a broken scapula. It is now at Blue Mountain Wildlife
in Pendleton Or. Steve said Blue Mountain is the best rehab facility
I'm the northwest."

Scott Downes added:

"I am often in contact with Lynn Tompkins who runs Blue Mt Wildlife.
They are a wonderful facility. Here is a link to their webpage if
people are interested: http://www.bluemountainwildlife.org/index.cfm"

This owl unfortunately picked a territory with one of Yakima's busiest
roads running through it. Hopefully it can be rehabbed and released
somewhere safer.
