Hello all,
We headed up to Lyons Ferry Park Sunday Sept 30 am to see what might still be around - I pushed thru the thick false indigo on the dike out to the island - and there in the locust tree above the picnic table was a PYGMY NUTHATCH! I radio'd Mike and he hurried out and enjoyed this little suprise along with me! As far as we can tell it is a first county record for Franklin Co. WA This bird was very active and vocal - didn't sit still but I managed to get one photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/m-ml_wallawalla/
Just checked LCBirds and Pygmy Nuthatch was reported from Richland, Benton Co. today as well.
