Tweets ? our first frosty morning (all the cars reported 32 degrees at 7:30, and there was a touch of frost here and there), but with the sun out, things warmed up. It was at least 60 by the time we were done. Rather quiet today ? we seem to be in a bit of a crease between summer birds and winter birds ? we had only 2 species of duck, for example. But still some interesting stuff.

Varied Thrush One near S end of Dog Meadow ? FOF
American Pipit At least 1 calling over Compost Piles early
Wh.-throated Sparrow At least 3!
Pine Siskin Our first largish flock ~25

After I got home, Houston Flores texted me to say there was a NORTHERN HARRIER over the East Meadow.

Weirdest sight? near the park office, one male ANNA?S HUMMINGBIRD had another Anna?s male pinned on his back on the ground. They stayed that way for quite a while, watching us as we approached. I think we interrupted a fight.
