Subject: [Tweeters] Migrating ducks, Anacortes

Of note for the season, on Friday, September 28, a female Northern Shoveler and female Green-winged Teal were at the Big Beaver Pond in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands.

And a first for me: watching a Merlin making swift forays to capture
dragonflies and bring them back to his snag-tip perch for ingestion.
The predator becomes the prey!

good birding,
Kristi Hein
Anacortes
