The Wilson's Plover was loafing on a bunch of dried seaweed just to the north of trail 4 until 12:45 today when it and the associated flock of?Snowies was spooked by what I was told was a Red Tail but I didn't see the Hawk. ?The flock of around 12 birds flew south on the beach and the 4 of us who were there packed up and left. ?So it's most likely that the bird is still in the area. ?

There were hundreds of Brown Pelicans and their attendant gulls at the Graveyard spit for quite a sight. ?At Tokeland we found one and possibly two Barred Tailed Godwits for my 3rd life bird of the day. ?Leaving the Tokeland Marina I saw 3 TVs circling over South Tokeland and had previously seen 2 south of Hwy 8 around the rest area for a total of 5. ?

I would like to thank Alan from Naselle who I met today who pointed me in the right direction for the Wilson's and picked out the Barred Tails at Tokeland after I had totally missed them in the flock. ?The weather was perfect with little wind and about 65 degrees. ?A wonderful day. ?

Don't forget that next Saturday and Sunday is Birdfest at Ridgefield. ?
