Dear Mary and Tweeters,
?
I wish I had?a pair of those?overshoes--haven't seen them in?a store, but would love to get some "Neos." I think they'd be the way to go; they'd probably pay for themselves by outlasting cheaper alternatives.
?
Though I don't have cool overshoes, I did?learn something about rubber boots a few years ago. I was preparing for a stint working in an Alaskan fish cannery.?All the old hands told me that I absolutely had to get a pair of the brown "XtraTuff " brand neoprene boots. I was also told that I absolutely had to get a certain brand of insoles; I think they were called "Supertuff" insoles. In any case, I did buy exactly the products recommended. They were close to eighty bucks.
?
Arriving at the?cannery, I noticed that close to 90% of the workers had those brown boots on.? When the drudgery began, I was able to stand there on the cold concrete floor for my whole sixteen-hour shift with reasonably comforable feet.
?
I still have those boots. They have outlasted any rubber boot I have ever owned. They stay in my trunk, for those times when a marsh beckons.
?
Yours truly,
?

>Tweeters, I?m finally ready to buy some good knee-high rubber boots for the winter birding season ahead, that is if it ever starts to rain! Probably best to email me offline if you have an opinion about which boots are best and where to buy them. My current plan is just to head to Cabela?s and try a bunch on, but I thought I?d check in with all of you experts as well. Thanks, Mary Bond, Seattle. Zuckerbond at Comcast dot net
