Subject: [Tweeters] Red-breasted Sapsuckers in yard this morning, and...

At around 11 this a.m. I heard a new bird call - then I spotted 2 woodpecker-sized birds interacting and flitting about in my stewartia tree, on the trunks and branches. Hurried to get my binoculars and discovered that they both were RB Sapsuckers - they acted like kids, so I'm assuming they were juveniles. It'll be neat to see if they show up again - usually I don't see any until late fall/early winter here at the Barboretum.

Then, around 1 p.m. I heard a couple of Evening Grosbeaks, but didn't see them - didn't have time to scout for them, but I recognize the call.

Adds to an already glorious day. :-)
