Tweeters,
Five of us toured the lower Duwamish from Cecil Moses Park in Tukwila to
T-105 Park just south of the West Seattle bridge on Saturday morning. We
netted 30 species of birds, and two mammals (sea lion near Turning Basin #3
(!) and a harbor seal opposite T-105 Park). Not much happening, but two
highlights were a flock of about 150 CEDAR WAXWINGS at Cecil Moses Park, and
three ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS making like woodpeckers getting (apparently)
insects from the bark of a cedar tree, also at that park.
We also saw 18 KILLDEER at Herring's House Park.
May all your birds be identified,
Denis DeSilvis
