Hello all. I saw several large flocks of these birds, probably over 1000
individuals in Central California, along route 45 south of Colusa on
September 20 this year. I sent photos to the Sacramento Audubon, but never
heard back. I'm still very curious. They were basically all black, with
heads and under sides a bit lighter gray. The beak is long and curved down
which makes me think Ibis. The Glossy Ibis has been seen in CA, but is not
common there. There were so many of the birds, that I was sure this was a
big deal. Any opinions greatly appreciated.
