I was one who recommended Boggs and one thing I like about them is that the
uppers are neoprene. Consequently they fit more snugly which I think makes
them more comfortable, helps for walking and probably also makes them
warmer. I have friends around here (north-central Idaho) who swear by them
for early winter and "mud" season conditions.
