Hey Tweets:

I drove a friend up to Rockport today, Thursday, to pick up her new
pup from a breeder up there. The route took us from our homes in Ocean
Shores east to Maple Valley to pick up another friend who wanted to
ride along, then up the 405 to I-5 to Hwy 530...the back way... almost
to Hwy 20....we were about 1/4 mile short at our turnoff. This was new
territory for us, so we were pleased to see the weather clear just as
we got off I-5 onto 530. From then on we enjoyed just a gorgeous day,
That whole 13 hr round trip was a pleasure, with 17 red-tailed hawks
counted, the afore-mentioned mostly sunny skies, the North Cascades
looming over the scene the last 50 miles to the breeder's, and a few
questions raised by some of the sights.

We were on a schedule, so unable to stop and gawk, but would like to
know what the smallish, mostly white gulls were on the sewage lagoon
in Everett...seen from the freeway they look all white, but that is
because we were speeding past and at a distance.

Also of note, a merlin seen on our return trip crossing I-5 from west
to east chasing a flock of small birds...near Lynnwood.
