There were two SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS at the refuge this afternoon, first reported by Randy Hill and enjoyed by many of the folks at BirdFest. Tomorrow, the Auto Tour Route will be closed to private vehicles but can you take a free bus tour that leaves from the Ridgefield High School parking lot. If your guide doesn't know about the birds just tell them they were at the south end of Rest Lake, about halfway to the "Three Trees". Wilson Cady

Hi all,

Just returned from the River S of Ridgefield NWR. Zak Pohlen and I were able to readily relocate the previously reported Sharp-tailed Sandpiper on Rest Lake. As reported earlier this a very bright individual than stands out among the Pectoral's with which it is associating. There are also numerous dowitchers and yellowlegs present of both flavors.

Cheers,
