I drove up Deer Park Rd. to the top of Blue Mountain in the Olympics this morning. The numbers of birds were not high, particularly since there was a hard frost overnight at that elevation (6,000 ft.), but there were 3 Townsend's Solitaires just below Deer Park Campground, and 6 Horned Larks on the road just below the mountain's summit.
