Calling all Tweeters,

I'm reaching out to you, on behalf of the Cascadia Community College Foundation, to share an exciting public event we're hosting called Cascadia...Something to Crow About. The event will be held on October 24, 2012 on its Bothell, WA campus, click on the link provided below. One of our professors, Sadie Rosenthal will be presenting and bringing her class to learn more about our campus crows and their roosting behaviors. We want to share this event with others who may have a strong interest in attending due to their interest in birds, wetlands, and/or the environment because a dialogue with other "enthusiasts" in the field would greatly enhance the conversation for our students! The campus crows appear every evening at sunset in such volume that it reminds one of Hitchcock's "The Birds". Join us in a pre-Halloween birding experience that will include information about Cascadia's 58-acre wetland that is one of the biggest floodplain restorations in the Pacific Northwest. The event is complementary.

A little about Sadie Rosenthal:

Sadie Rosenthal holds a Master's in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame where she focused on freshwater ecology and invasive species biology. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a Minor in Entomology from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to her applied education, she has spent many years traveling across the U.S. as a field and laboratory biologist. She worked on projects including the biological control of schistosomiasis, the biological effects of sun and shade coffee plantations in Puerto Rico, the botanical inventory of USFS lands in Alaska, and the monitoring of fisheries in the Bering Sea.

This event is free of charge but for planning purposes knowing how many will be attending is necessary. You'll find RSVP information on the invitation. We hope you will add this special event to your calendar and consider helping us get the word out to others. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
