Tonia, your mystery duck is a "mutt".? Sometimes referred to as a "park duck"?because ducks like these are often seen?in public parks.? ?It's a hybrid of a mallard and who knows what else.? It was either bred by an exotic waterfowl person, or just a product of nature taking its course. The only thing we can say for sure is that its a male.?

Hi, I stopped by Lincoln Park in Port Angeles to walk the duck ponds for
the first time in years.? I have two questions.? Is it too early for a
Brant to be back.? Because I?m fairly sure I saw one...but thought maybe I
was wrong.? And second is this just a funky Mallard duck, or something
else, there were two with white splotches on their heads.? He wouldn?t
cooperate for a frontal view, mostly the ducks just wanted to sleep rather then
show off.? I couldn?t blame them it wasn?t very warm.

Here?s the picture.? I didn?t have a SD card, and? thought I?d gotten
a really good one, so didn?t take multiple shots, I wish now that I had
remembered to pull the sd card OFF my computer. ? Its still a decent
picture, but it doesn?t show all the white splotches that were on the far
size.
