I received an e-mail from David Hepp who found a black oystercatcher around 10 AM on the dock at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club.

David?s first message:
I was just on my usual loop walk and found a black oystercatcher standing on the far end of the community club dock. Looked like an immature- red bill tipped darker. Mostly standing quietly but occasionally tipping backwards. Gene Hunn only lists three King County records. Must be very confused as to the way south!
David

Followed by a second message:
I went back down with my camera and scope and got some merely adequate record pix. Two crows eventually chased it off the pier and it left the area, calling it?s flight call.
Cool.
David
