I had a large grey falcon on a fencepost yesterday which I zoomed by just about 2 miles north of Goldendale on Hwy 97 (Klickitat Co., WA). I circled back and could only see a very large grey falcon flying awy. I could hear geese (cacklers I think) near where I parked, but no guarantee on that.

It was maybe a mile this side of Sawyer Rapids along Highway 38 and was perched on a fencepost between several large pastures ripping something apart. It was a very large and looked like the gray phase variety. Definitely not a peregrine. There were numerous Canada Geese somewhat keeping their distance.
