Hi Tweets

Five of us sighted an extremely cooperative juvenile Rock Sandpiper this afternoon at Sandy Point, in full view, scoped up close and personal from approximately 50 feet, for about 15 minutes, in full sun. It was standing on a concrete block on the outside of the point, about 100 feet back from the end of the point where the Black Turnstones frequently hang out. There were no other shorebirds in the vicinity. It turned occasionally to give us a variety of informative views. It was in classic juvenile plumage as seen in Sibley. Unfortunately none of us had a camera at the time.

Other birds of note for the day were sighted at Lake Terrell: 2 Osprey, circling and vocalizing; 1 female Canvasback; 4 Redheads (2 male, 2 female)
