Hi All,

After some fun and some very nice birds on the central coast Friday and
Saturday, My brother Dan and I decided to try our luck at Neah Bay
today. We did manage to find a handful of interesting birds. Here are
the highlights -

SNOW GOOSE - cont. bird in Waatch R. Valley

SANDHILL CRANE- three flying south overhead near the Coast Guard station
to start our morning.

MARBLED GOWIT - two cont. birds in Neah Bay Harbor.

NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD - one at west-side of town where road starts out to
outer breakwater. Seen mid-morning but not again on a few quick visits
backto spot.

NASHVILLE WARBLER - one in area just past entrance boot to Hobuck Beach
Resort.

COMMON YELLOWTHROAT - female a bit further down the road from spot of
Nashville Warbler.

YELLOW WARBLER - one at same place as Northern Mockingbird on the
west-side of the town ofNeah Bay.

PALM WARBLER - two down the beach a bit from the Hobuck Resort almost to
mouth of Waatch River.

And by the way, we had these interestingwarblers while not recording a
Yellow-rumped Warbler all day! Weird.

CLAY-COLORED SPARROW - Near shoreline breakwater just on the northeast
side of Coast Guard station fence line first thing in the morning.

ORCHARD ORIOLE - Obviously our biggest highlight of day. Popped out of
blackberry brambles in same spot as Northern Mockingbird.
Female/immphotographed and viewed off and on for 15 minutes. Did not see
on subsequent visits but we also did not try very hard.

Cheers and good birding,
