Our son Brad, just called from a WDF&W research boat in the Columbia River off of Stevenson, Skamania ,to report that there are flocks of scoters on the river between Stevenson and the Spring Creek Hatchery at Underwood. He saw SURF and WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS plus some all dark birds he didn't get close enough to check for species from a running boat. He said that there some of the flocks consisted of a couple dozen scoters.
