Just got inside my North Everett home after watching many hundreds of Snow Geese over my place , flying high headed toward Stanwood, Skagit Bay, whatever. Over a thousand but I was more into the spectacle than counting. Beautiful shifting vee's and long, long skeins of them. The first "commuter geese" I've seen this fall here.

Also saw my first swans of the fall a bit earlier today, just south of Snohomish on the floodplain - west of Hwy 9 and south of Marsh Road. A traditional hangout. There were around 20 or 30. I was driving, Trumpeter's I presumed. Big!
