A ?first winter? White-throated Sparrow was hanging out in the yard yesterday and while I was taking pictures of it, I got to thinking about how it differed from an adult. As I have put photos of birds on my web site, I have pretty much lumped all young birds as juveniles even when I have realized that isn?t always the most accurate description for many of them. I have commented on this and put the photo on my musing pages.

I have also put a photo of a young bird I took in August in my juveniles gallery and would be interested if anyone thinks they know what it is. I sure don?t.
