Hi Tweets - After scoring on the Common Eider at Westport and then lucking out in the gales of mist for the Wilson's Plover at Grayland, I headed to Tokeland. On the way, I checked the cranberry bogs on Smith Anderson Road at North Cove and came up with a Code 4 male Redhead in a small pond. At Tokeland, the Godwit flock was not to be found but while scoping Graveyard Spit (there were 2 Caspian Terns with the peeps/gulls), I looked up and on the wire above me was the Tropical Kingbird reported last weekend at the marina. As I headed toward Raymond, I found the Godwit flock on the mud flats a couple of miles east of Shoalwater and it included the very distinguishable gimpy Hudsonian Godwit. Wow - despite the miserable weather and being a couple of weeks late getting to the chase, I managed to see/photograph all the coastal good stuff including two Lifers. This is truly good birding.
