Hello Tweeters,
This morning was hard to decide to driving again to Westport
ore staying Home, since it was raining pretty hard here in Tacoma ,and the
forecast was Rain all day.
I finally going on the positive decide to be going to find this RARE BIRD.
It was raining all the way up to the Westhaven State Park.It
was still early 9.30AM AND NO BIRDER IN SIGHT!!!!!!!
It start than heavy Raining,I drove to the Marina to finding some birders
trying to find out,if this Wheatear was found, running in to no one,Back to
Westhaven and hearing the news from Sherry Hagen the bird is flying around
.So I went on to the trail almost to the end ,a small bird was coming behind
me passed me on the trail, and since I WENT TO ALL MY BIRDBOOKS at home,I
recognize that this was the wanted WHEATEAR.When I SAW 2 MALE BIRDERS ON THE
TRAIL THERE CONFIRMED THAT THERE ALSO SAW THIS BIRD.By talking to quite few
birders
NO ONE SAW THIS BIRD on the ground ore on the beach.
There where quite few Semipalmated Plovers mixed with a group of
Sanderlings.I ALSO SAW THE INJURED THE AMERICAN
Golden PLOVER ,HE LOOKED IN BAD SHAPE.As I come to the parking Lot many
birders finally arrived it was than way after 12.00 PM,AND IT START RAINING
THAN PRETTY HEFTY.I DEPARTED,IT TOOK ME 3 hours to get home, but I FEEL LUCKY
,EVEN SO not getting any photos , this getting a Glimpse of this small
bird,I FEEL LUCKY I saw it at all!!!!!!

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
