Many thanks to all the Tweeters who responded to my request for help in identifying a bird we saw in Cappadocia, Turkey. The bird was hopping around on the rocks, in an area full of tourists. The back was blue-gray, the head and upper wings appeared a brighter blue and the lower breast was reddish. The consensus seems to be that it was a rock thrush, now known as a rufous-tailed rock thrush, monticola saxatilis. Once again, I am amazed by the knowledge that Tweeters have and are willing to share. Tweeters is a great organization!
