A surprisingly beautiful day found me up in the Samish Flats hoping to see a Short-eared Owl or 2 - BINGO! Watched 2 through my scope off to the southeast from the paved trail. Saw no harassment between the 2 owls and about 6 harriers (all female), Both the NOHA and the SEOW vocalized a little during the final 15 min. they were hunting.
Besides threatening skies, a few drops of rain and the setting sun managed to add much to the West 90 scene, which included settling ducks and geese, a few nice hunters, no wind and mild temps. 5:40 - 6:40 p.m.
