Thanks to Wayne Weber also for his suggestion. However has anyone
hereabouts ever seen a Least Sandpiper with *bright* yellow legs, virtually
no brown on head or breast, and white forehead and supercilia ?

I watched a Spotted Sandpiper on the beach here this morning and there is
no way my bird was one of them - much more mottled on the back and wing
coverts, and no tail bobbing. Also I don't think I have ever seen a Spotted
mixing in with the Westerns and Leasts.

It remains an interesting mystery bird, which is what many of us search for
in flocks of shorebirds....
