Tweeters,

The juvenile Ruff at Hoquiam Ponds yesterday afternoon was sometimes easy to
see, sometimes very well hidden. Later afternoon if was right up against
the north bank of the ponds, east of the dividing bank in the ponds, so not
visible at all from the north side and only a minute image from the west
side of the ponds. At one point, it disappeared into the weeds and cattails
along the edge.

Alongside a Pectoral Sandpiper, the bird appeared just a bit larger, more in
the female (reeve) size range.

Good birding, Bob
