Hi All: For feather id
Bird Feathers: A Guide to North American Species by S. David Scott and Casey McFarland.
The forensic lab at Ashland, OR also has online guides (http://www.lab.fws.gov/fa/index.php).
Our wing collection also has many examples of wing and tail feathers (http://digitalcollections.pugetsound.edu/cdm/landingpage/collection/slaterwing).
In addition you can send images or the feathers to me. Some provide interesting challenges but most we can id without delay.
