Subject: [Tweeters] Olympia Long-billed Curlew and Sanderlings east of KGY
radio station



I stopped at the overlook east of KGY at about 2:30 pm today. The juvenile
Long-billed Curlew was the only shorebird there. I posted myself on a
comfortable bench and trained my camera in its general direction, hoping it
would wander close. Surprisingly, to me anyway, a small flock of Sanderlings
flew in and landed. Some Western Sandpipers joined them a little bit later.
I'm not used to seeing Sanderlings in south Puget Sound.
