Sunday was windy, overcast, and cool, so I thought it would be perfect weather to do some extended shooting at the marsh with my really big honkin' lens setup.??Past photo shoots on bright, sunny days have been frustrated by?distortion caused by?heat waves reflecting up?from the mud and water.? I was also eager to try some of the techniques I picked up Saturday at Paul Bannick's long lens class?at the Puget Sound Bird? Fest.
?
Highlights of the day included flyovers by a juvie Cooper's hawk and a red-tailed hawk plus small flocks of sandpipers and killdeer flying in and out of the marsh.??? The?best entertainment was provided by the resident kingfisher kouple?as they?chattered and chased each other back and forth?over the marsh. ??
