About five years ago when in San Diego on a
business trip, I ventured up north to La Jolla and
the Torrey Pines area and went Parasailing. Great
experience along the bluff next to the Pacific
Ocean in beautiful weather. A highlight was a
group of Brown Pelicans that soared parallel to me
for about 30 seconds - perhaps 30 yards away at
their closest. They were completely effortless
catching the wind, something I cold "empathize"
with for the first time as I too soared effortlessly.
Another highlight was the scene at "Black's Beach"
just below populated by another type of bird
altogether in their "altogethers". Look it up...
