Greetings,

Assisting in Alki Beach cleaning efforts today, I was surprised to see a
couple dozen BLACK TURNSTONEs and SURFBIRDs on the rocks to the east of
the beach proper. I couldn't get a fair count as a photographer
systematically flushed the birds until they stayed out of sight farther
east. Also at the beach today were an OSPREY, a couple tolerant GREAT
BLUE HERONs, and a couple migrant SAVANNAH SPARROWs (plus harbor seal
and California sea lion).

At home (Leschi), I've still got WESTERN TANAGER and SWAINSON'S THRUSH.

Late mention: on Sept. 9, a MERLIN and four female HARLEQUIN DUCKs
passed Discovery Park's West Point, among else.
