All,
Lee and I had a nice swing through NE WA this past weekend. Thanks to
Terry Little and Matt Bartels for their PO shorebird posts last week.
Dike Rd, Kalispell Reservation had a nice selection including Baird's and
Pectoral. A Merlin was working shorebirds near the bridge in Usk.
In Ferry County near Barnaby Creek CG (Inchelium Kettle Falls Rd) there
were two Sandhill Cranes walking about and three Double-crested Cormorants.
Also in Ferry County there were Dusky Grouse and American Pipits on Bridge
Creek Rd. Near the top of Manilla Creek Road Lewis's Woodpeckers were
streaming past (about a dozen over two minutes). Heading west to Okanogan
County, there were approximately 2000 Sandhill Cranes near lakes and in
wheat stubble at various places along Cameron Lake Rd.
happy birding,
Mark Crawford
Kirkland, WA
