Tweets,

Enjoyed a lovely Monday at Sunrise for Ptarmageddon IV.....my fourth visit this summer to Sunrise/Fremont Lookout with bad Ptarma-karma.

By far the most unexpected bird was a Wilson's Phalarope, spinning in circles on Frozen Lake. In second place for unexpected birds were a drake Wood Duck and 4 Wigeons, also on Frozen Lake. For the day:

Wood Duck
Am Wigeon
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Prairie Falcon
Wilson's Phalarope
Downy WP
N. Flicker
Common Raven
Gray Jay
Clark's Nutcracker
Am. Pipit
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Mountain Chickadee
Robin
Hermit Thrush
Varied Thrush
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Dark-eyed Junco
Golden-crowned Sparrow

Neat Mammal sightings as well....one huge bull elk trotting through the meadows near the parking lot....and 33 mountain goats ambling below the trail to Fremont LO.

Note that White River Campground will close Sept 30 and Sunrise Oct 8 (or before if the snows hit)
